Defenseman Roman Rukavishnikov is a product of Rus Moscow's hockey school. He was picked 30th by HC Atlant Mytishchi in the 2009 KHL Draft, and took 17 points from 60 games in his first season with their youth team. He made his first team debut in 2011, and signed for SKA in 2014. During his debut season with SKA, he took a Russian championship silver medal as well as becoming a KHL Gagarin Cup champion.
Roman has played for the Russian junior national team at the 2011 Super Series. He has represented the main team at the Euro Hockey Tour in 2014 and 2015.
