Mikko Koskinen is a Finnish goaltender who is a product of the Espoo Blues hockey system. He begun representing the team when 16 years old during the 2003/2004 campaign, and wom a SM-Liiga silver medal in 2008. He played four matches for his drafted NHL team the New York Islanders, while also playing in the AHL. After a second stint in Finland Mikko started a career in the KHL with HC Sibir Novosibirsk, and then signed for SKA after one season in Novosibirsk. He took part in the 2014 KHL All-Star Game, and became the best goaltender of the 2014/2015 KHL season. With SKA he has won a silver medal of the Russian championship while becoming a Gagarin Cup champion. With the Finnish national team he has claimed a silver medal from the 2014 and 2016 IIHF World Championships. In 2016 he also became the best goaltender of the World Championship and was also included in the top five players of the tournament.
