Dinar Khafizullin started off his hockey career in Kazan where he graduated from their hockey school. From 2004 he played for Ak Bars' reserve team, and in 2006 he played one match for their main team. He then played for Neftyanik before transferring to Vityaz for the 2010/2011 season. Afterwards he returned to Ak Bars to play three further matches for the club, before again coming back to Vityaz. Dinar became a SKA player towards the end of the 2013/2014 season, and won a Russian championship silver medal and the KHL Gagarin Cup in 2015. He became a bronze medalist of the 2009 World Junior Championship with Russia.
